About

History

The OpenToolkits.org project began as a collaboration by the two founding developers to create several useful toolkits which could be used independently of their projects. As the needs of the developers grew so did the toolkits which they were working on until it became the code base it is today. Currently there are two toolkits that are provided.

Mission

The main purpose of this website is provide our toolkits to other developers. The code has proven to be very useful in our own projects and we would like to allow anyone else who might find it useful to benefit. It’s also the intention of this website to help build a community surrounding the code so that people can learn and contribute their own ideas.

Development

Additions to the toolkits will continue to be made as our own projects grow, although the future development has not been mapped out. It is our hopes that people can benefit from what we offer but currently we are not providing an all encompassing solution or product.

Contribute

Contributions to this website and the related code is strongly encouraged. Below are the main ways that you can help us continue to grow.

  • Documentation- With community based web services we want the community to assist in building documentation and tutorials on the toolkits we provide. If you are interested in helping out with this please feel free to read more here.
  • Forums - The forums are the central place where the community can share and learn. Just being active in the forums is one small way that you can contribute to us. To see forums please continue here.
  • Code - All code we provide is open to continued development. For more information on how to contribute to the the toolkits please continue here.
